Development of E-Government in Poland on the Example of the mCitizen Application

ABSTRACT In October 2017, a free application, mCitizen, was launched in Poland . The purpose of the application is to safely and conveniently use digital documents and quickly handle official matters on the phone, without having to appear in person at the office . As emphasized in the science of administrative law, the new application is primarily a citizen’s assistant, thanks to which handling official matters is easier and more convenient. The application also provides its users with constant access to data from state registers. Public administration is keen to ensure that in the era of digitization and development of e-administration, the application becomes an increasingly central point of contact between citizens and the administration and to handle as many everyday matters as possible through it.
