ABSTRACT The paper addresses the legal implications of the extensive implementation of the EEPR cycle (Engagement-Extraction-Processing-Revenue) by the technological industry and the constant dumping of contaminated information, capable of harming individuals and society. The data industry is contextualised within the framework of the polluting industry, thereby facilitating the use of the scientific and legal scholarship developed over the past decades.
